New Plans

So I got an email today, saying I have to convert to one of the new LUM plans.
I currently pay $60 for 3 months.
Now I get to pay $90 for 3 months.
I'm not sure why I should be excited about this!
I'm a snowbird and will be going south shortly, so I won't make any drastic changes at this time - but I assure you, I'll be switching carriers come spring. Other providers are lowering costs, while LUM seems intent on raising them.

    Hello,

Thanks for the feedback, we're really sorry you feel this way.

For those who use low data -  we still have great low cost options for you!

You can get the 1 year membership plan with 150 GB of 5G data for $300.  That's like paying only $25/mo.  Plus it includes unlimited calling and texting in Canada and to the U.S. and there's no extra 911 fees like our old memberships.

For those of you have 3 month memberships and using 2GB a month, you're currently paying $30/month, plus 911 fees.

We're still among the cheapest rates you can get and all our plans are 5G speed now!

For those of with an existing data balance - that will NEVER expire!  We sold it to you that way and we have stuck to our word.

150 GB in one year is not low data usage for alot of people.

Right now I have almost 30 gigs of data left from the bucket I bought when I signed up. I've been getting 3 months subscriptions for $50. When my subscription ends in 21 days I CAN'T buy another 3 months for $50. You are forcing me to pay $90 for 3 months which is $40 more than I am paying now. As far as I am concerned until my data runs out I should be able to buy the old plan for $50. Not only am I paying almost twice as much but it's made my data worthless! Perhaps you should have kept two plans-the 4G plan for us people that don't use a lot of data and a 5G plan for people I do. I have 57 days to decide what I want to do, but I won't be buying more that 3 months at a time that's for sure. Way to go Sasktel.

I do not like this. I liked it because I used the data the way I wanted.

I don't make phone calls frequently so I don't need unlimited calling. I really just use a little data. I appreciated the buckets and paying for what I used. What you are switching to is what I fled with my previous provider.

This really will only force me to flee the first chance I get. You really should grandfather the previous plans.

Im super disappointed and can't recommend it.... And feel bad for those I did recommend it to in the past. This change ruins your model that made it so attractive to begin with.

LethalX has 30GB of data to use up. Between my wife, myself, my two daughters and one business line I have almost 250 GB to use up. With tax, at $200 for 95GB, it works out to $2.33/GB. That's just shy of $600. We agreed to a service and signed up with a specific phone plan and business model. You have taken that away. Contractually, the agreement has changed.

Therefore, Lum, when can I expect my refund cheques for all accounts?

I agree with UncleBruce. While I think the new plans are fine, I would like to get reimbursed for my remaining data. $40 credit please! 🤑

Yes I too think it'it's morally bankrupt on the part of Lum that they could sell you a data top up one day and the very next send an email telling you that data was now worthless! They can say all they want that you will not lose it but if you can never use that IS the same as losing it.

Just to add, how do I now trust giving them $350 upfront. What is to say they don't change something again.
