Fires Causing Service Impairments in Northern SK
Due to prolonged power outages caused by the ongoing wildfires in Northern Saskatchewan, wireless cellular service is currently unavailable in Deschambault Lake and Pelican Narrows. SaskTel also anticipates that services in Jan Lake may become unavailable.
These disruptions will continue until commercial power is restored or until it is safe for SaskTel crews to access the affected sites with generators and fuel.
We understand how difficult and unsettling this situation is for our customers, especially those trying to stay connected with loved ones and emergency services. Please know that SaskTel and Lüm are doing everything possible to restore service as quickly and safely as conditions allow.
With fires still active in the region, additional service interruptions may occur if more infrastructure is impacted.

Currently, all wireless services are unavailable in La Ronge, Creighton, Deschambault Lake, Pelican Narrows, Jan Lake, Denare Beach, and in all communities and areas directly North and Northeast of La Ronge. Communities and areas Northwest of La Ronge are not affected.
Efforts to restore services have begun, and will proceed as it is safe to do so. However, there currently is no estimated time of repair. Additional updates will be shared as the situation evolves.

June 6, 2025 - SaskTel crews have restored services to parts of Northern Saskatchewan including Pelican Narrows, Jan Lake, Denare Beach, McLennan Lake, Brabant Lake, Deschambault Lake, Southend, Wollaston Lake, Stony Rapids and Fond-du-Lac. Services remain out for the Town of Creighton, parts of La Ronge, and additional communities along Highway #102 extending north to the Missinipe and Grandmother’s Bay area.
