text length limit

I sent a long text, it registered sent but was not received. Is there a text length limit? If so, sender's text should not say "sent" if in fact it is not. Thoughts please, Lüm.

    Sent means it's been submitted to the cellular network. It sounds like the person might have MMS or data turned off, since texts that extend past 160 characters are sent as a picture message.
