I purchase a gb of Mexican data does it automatically start using that when i arrive in Mexico or do I have to activate something on my phone?

    Should be automatic. Your phone may take a few minutes to pick up a local network. If it doesn't you may need to go into your settings and manually connect to a network that works. Also make sure your roaming is turned on.
