My LUM subscription is due to renew on May 12. My notification email say the cost will be $73.52 My previous renewals have always been $62.42.

I opened a ticket asking why my next renewal is $11.10 higher.

The response was that LUM are raising their rates to $60 per quarter on May 2.

Has anybody else heard about this?

It hasn't been officially announced it seems. It is entirely a possibility. There's been another report by another user of their annual membership notification being higher than their last renewal. It seems the 3 month membership is going up by $10 and the 12 month is going up by $20.

Hello, this is accurate. Starting from May 2, 2024 membership renewals of 3 months will cost $10 more plus tax and the 1 year will cost $20 more plus tax. To save money we recommend purchasing a longer membership plan and a bigger data package as this will give you the best value. Inflation has affected us all and we are working on improving our services and have some plans for the future. We can't reveal them yet. Keep an eye out.
Thanks for choosing Lüm! We appreciate you.

That's unfortunate. Depending on a user's use, data costs are actually a pretty reasonable price, but the fixed fee is definitely what increases costs the most to users.

Hopefully they can provide meaningful features for the increase in price, because right now you can get a $35 dollar plan with 50gb, 5g, voicemail, and US data. A $35 dollar Lüm equivalent is 4g, voicemail and 5gb of Canada only service.

The value of Lüm is losing its competitive edge for me, but I hope they can continue to improve.

Not sure Lümbot is the flex you think it is… Honestly feels like that response was written by AI.

Hopefully the "home-based in Sask" company can actually provide quality support to its customers and a good working environment for its employees. Nothing says we're proud of our local industry like using a US-based generative AI company!

Again, I'm very happy with Lüm so far, but y'all are going to have to make meaningful changes that provide value to consumers, instead of just focusing on you're ROI.
