Managing Cell Service for my In-laws

Hi all.

Background: Currently my in-laws are retired and using Sasktel mobile service. Majority of the time they are at home and have wifi, etc. Last year or so their Cell service usage is quite low. They still travel to USA each winter, where the majority of the time they have wifi, etc. I currently remotely manage their Sasktel service and pay for it as well. All notifications come to me.

Question - I would like to port them over to LUM. I would like to confirm that I can remotely mange/pay/top up and get all LUM notifications regarding their service. I will not be a LUM customer.

I assume my 1 account can be used to 'oversee' the individual lines/accounts?

Thanks

    Hi,

Most Saskatchewan landline and cell phone numbers can be ported over to Lüm.

With Lum they can sign up for the cheapest plan that will be $300 + tax for unlimited calling to CAN/US and texting also. For US they can purchase data for $15/GB. This data can also be used as 1000 minutes of calling while in the US and it doesn't expire until they use the full 1GB or 1000minutes. It can be topped up at any time.

As for account control, Lum users can link accounts but each account is still treated individually for service. I.e. services cannot be combined or shared. Everything with lum works online with a user name and password. So they can always manage their Lum service via the web. If they need someone else to manage the account then that's between you and them to decide if they want to share their Lum credentials.

Thanks H-man for the quick reply.

I plan to get them the 1 yr, 150GB for $300. This will likely cover all needs for data in Canada and USA and I can alway top up data as needed.

@Slacker just to be clear, US data has to be purchased separately at $15/GB and it never expires.
