3G Network Shutdown in Manitoba

Heads up – there’s changes coming to wireless service in Manitoba. 

 

On December 31, 2025, our roaming partners will start shutting down their 3G networks in Manitoba. That means if your phone relies on 3G, it won’t be able to make and receive calls (including 9-1-1) in Manitoba. You might also not be able to send and receive texts or use data. 

 

Here’s what you need to know: 

  • To keep using wireless service while travelling in Manitoba, you’ll need: 
  • a VoLTE compatible phone, 
  • VoLTE enabled, and  
  • the latest software on your phone.
