No Low Use New Plans?

The way this plan change rollout has been handled is brutal! I recently invested $200 for the largest data package and now under the new plans it will be useless. I had planned on slowly using it for many years. How can that even be legal?
There are so many better ways they could have went about making these changes:
- Grandfather in existing customers with the old plans and make only new customers select from the new plans. Existing customers would have the option to switch to a new plan if desired.
- Include a plan for low usage customers similar to the previous plan that includes no or limited data for a much lower cost.
- At least allow existing customers to get a partial refund or bill credit for data they purchased under the previous business model that is no longer of any value to them!
It is also extremely frustrating that a crown corporation that should exist to serve residents of SK is engaging in these predatory business practices. Bait and switch here with Lum and the Sasktel internet that requires multi-year contracts and has constantly changing prices. Internet and cellular service should be treated like utilities and everyone should be offered the same reasonable price (the lowest fare price that allows the crown to break even or make a small profit).
If Lum doesn't address any of these concerns I will be switching cell providers in a couple months when my membership ends (likely to Chatr for the $150/year 30gb plan).

Extremely disappointed customer here. Had this referred to me by a friend, and loved this option for my kids. One of my four kids has a cell so far. Had they kept their business model the same, I would definitely be using Lum for the other three. Now, we’re out. Shopping elsewhere.
Also, the number of exclamation marks in the email informing me about these changes? Am I supposed to be excited about you draining my bank account? Completely tone deaf. Get lost.

I'm also throwing my hat in the ring to express my dislike of the new plans. I use roughly 15 GB of data a year. I have no need or desire to switch to getting 150GB. Please reconsider a base option with no data included. It is why I switched to Lum in the first place. If Lum continues down this path I will absolutely be leaving.

The attraction to Lüm is that you were offering something different especially for low usage data users. Now it looks like you will be punishing them. The new plans make you look just like any other provider now. People will be shopping elsewhere. What did you think would happen when you advertise one thing and then totally switch it on your customers. I knew it would be too good to last. Not right, Lüm.

as Lum can see, obviously a lot of customers are seeing through this sneaky tactic of increasing prices for many users. It’s not to say that 25/ month for roughly 13gb isn’t a good deal, hard to find many places cheaper, but I do think they need to honour the people they have mislead that bought large amount of data that now they will never use, and give them compensation. It’s shady, they know it, and that’s why they aren’t addressing anyone’s concerns.

I'm in the same boat as bleejean and bought 100GB for $200 that I'm never going to hope to even touch the majority of (maybe 1-2GB tops before my current membership is up for renewal)
I'm really hoping they'll consider a partial refund given how the changes will make any existing data I still have at time of renewal completely useless. I'm also a 1GB per monther.

This was nothing short of dirty dealing. Why can't they come into this conversation and admit that they see how we consider ourselves burned. Especially those of us who bought 95 gb. They skirt around and try to make us feel better because it's only $2/month more. They sold this under false promises. Would it be so hard to apply our data value to the new subscription. SaskTel will pay for this one way or the other. I don't need 150gb … my remainder out of the 95 would have lasted me several years. They come here and play dumb.
