3G U.S. network shutdown - Member Forum
<main> <article class="userContent"> <p>Our U.S. network partners (AT&T and T-Mobile) turned down their 3G networks</p><ul><li>AT&T shutdown Feb 2022</li><li>T-Mobile shutdown July 2022</li></ul><p>We relied on these partners 3G networks to enable traditional voice calling when you travel to the U.S. - therefore, voice calls (incoming and outgoing) will not work after these shutdown dates while roaming in the U.S.</p><p>Data and text messaging will still continue work. A great alternative is to use data-based voice services like Facetime or WhatsApp - but please be aware that 911 does not work from these apps.</p><p>We also launched VoLTE on July 1, 2022 - which means that <a href="https://help.lum.ca/kb/articles/69" rel="nofollow noreferrer ugc">VoLTE capable phones</a> can still make voice calls from the U.S. </p> </article> </main>
