<main> <article class="userContent"> <p>Although we don’t sell phones – there are lots of great options available when you need a new one!</p><p>If using VoLTE (and the ability to make traditional phone calls in the U.S.) is important to you - check out which <a href="https://help.lum.ca/kb/articles/69-volte-capable-devices" rel="nofollow noreferrer ugc">phones are VoLTE capable</a>.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Buying a new phone</strong> </p><p>You can buy a new phone from: </p><ul><li>Another wireless provider that sells them (usually called "Device only") </li><li>A department store that has an Electronics department or Mobile kiosk</li><li>Directly from the phone manufacturer – they usually also offer payment options like financing to help you budget for the latest and greatest device (if that is important to you!). Such as: <ul><li>Apple [<a href="https://help.lum.ca/home/leaving?allowTrusted=1&target=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.apple.com%2Fca%2Fshop%2Fbuy-iphone" rel="nofollow noreferrer ugc"><em>https://www.apple.com/ca/shop/buy-iphone</em></a>] </li><li>Samsung [<a href="https://help.lum.ca/home/leaving?allowTrusted=1&target=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.samsung.com%2Fca%2Fmobile%2F" rel="nofollow noreferrer ugc"><em>https://www.samsung.com/ca/mobile/</em></a>] </li></ul></li></ul><p><strong>Buying a used phone</strong> </p><p>You can buy a used phone from: </p><ul><li>A website selling refurbished or renewed phones (just do an online search)</li><li>Another person on a market site (Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji) </li><li>A friend or family member (hope they give you a good deal 😉)</li></ul><p><strong>Before you buy a phone from someone, ask for the IMEI number. This tells you if the phone is on the lost or stolen blacklist database and if it'll work on our network.</strong> </p><p>Most phones that have been used in Canada or the U.S. are compatible with Lüm service.
