Setting up your voicemail
- Dial one of the options:
- *99
- 639-480-MAIL (6245)
- Your own phone number and press 7 during the greeting
- Note: you may also access your voicemail by clicking the voicemail button or holding 1 except during the first week of activation.
- Enter your 10-digit phone number and press #.
- Enter a new PIN and press #.
- Record your name.
- Follow the prompts to record your personal greeting and name.
- Press the * key to end the call.
If you hear: "This is not a valid phone number. Enter the 10-digit number including the area code."
- Make sure you purchased voicemail correctly.
- Make sure you typed the correct phone number.
- Restart your phone and try again.
- If it's still not working, Get Support.
If voicemail isn't picking when someone is calling you
- Go to your myLüm profile and click on Settings.
- Click on Manage Call Forwarding.
- Turn on Busy, No Answer, and Not Reachable.
- Change the number to 639-480-MAIL (6245) and Update for each option.
- Try checking your voicemail to see if it's working. Follow the steps in the next heading below.
- If it's still not working, Get Support.
Checking your voicemail messages
Checking in Canada and the U.S
- Dial one of the options:
- 639-480-MAIL (6245)
- Hold 1 (new activations may take up to one week to work with this shortcut)
- Press the voicemail button on your iPhone calling app 1 (new activations may take up to one week to work with this shortcut)
- *99
- Your own phone number and press 7 during the greeting
- Type your voicemail PIN to access your mailbox - your temporary PIN is your 10-digit phone number.
Checking in Mexico
- Press and hold zero (0) until it appears as + on the phone screen
- Follow the same instructions as Canada and the U.S. above
Below are some short cuts you may use to while listening to your voicemail
While listening to the message, press the #:
- 1 to rewind the message by 10 seconds
- 1 1 or 2 2 to restart the message
- 2 to pause the message
- 3 to fast forward the message by 10 seconds
- 7 or 3 3 to skip to the end of the message
- 5 to listen to who left the message, the time, and length of the voicemail
After listening to the message, press the #:
- 4 to listen again
- 6 to forward the message to another mailbox
- 7 to delete the message
- 8 to reply to the phone number
- 9 to save the message
- * to go back to the previous menu
- # to skip the message
Change the number of rings before voicemail picks up
The default ring time before voicemail picks up is 22 seconds.
To change the ring time (number of seconds before your voicemail picks up) on your cell phone:
- On your phone's keypad, dial (or tap):
- * 61 * 16394806245 * 11 * number of seconds #
- The number of seconds must one of these numbers: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30
- For example: To set the ring time to 10 seconds, dial: *61*16394806245*11*10#
- Press the Phone button (usually a green phone symbol at the bottom of the keypad).
- You may see a message saying the registration has succeeded and the ring time has been changed
Ring times
The number of rings will vary depending on whether the call is coming from a home phone or wireless phone.
