Travel add-ons keep you connected while you’re away and last for 30 days after the purchase date. Just a heads-up – any unused balance will be lost when they expire.
You can use data, and call or text numbers in Canada* and the country you’re visiting*. Calls and texts come out of your data balance at the following rates:

*Due to some of our roaming partners shutting down 3G networks, calling (including 9-1-1) and texting may not work in Ghana, Oman, Latvia and Manitoba. Texting and data will work in the U.S., but you'll need a VoLTE capable phone to make calls.
Data will work over these LTE networks, so you'll be able to use voice calling services if you use an alternate voice service app such as FaceTime or WhatsApp.

- Will I be notified when my data is running low?
- Yes. We’ll send you a free low data SMS alert when you have about 250 MB left.
- What happens if I run out of data and I need to buy more while traveling?
- You’ll have access to myLüm even if you have zero data remaining. You can quickly and securely buy more whenever you need it using the app.
- If I travel between countries in the same Global Pack (e.g., France to Spain), how does the calling and texting work?
- The data will continue to work seamlessly across all countries in your Global Pack. However, your calling and texting is strictly local to your current location or to and from Canada.
- If you are in France, you can call French numbers or Canadian numbers.
- If you travel to Spain, you can call Spanish numbers or Canadian numbers.
- Calling France from Spain is an international call and is not included.
- If you are roaming and cannot call, text or use your data, try the following steps:
- Make sure you have the right travel add-on in myLüm. You require a travel add-on for all usage outside of Canada.
- Check how many bars you have.
- Check to see if you have data roaming turned on.
- Get someone you're with to text you. If you receive it but can't send texts, you may not have data.
- Call another number to check if the issue is with your number or the number you are dialing. Please ensure you are dialing the country code if required or holding the (+) sign on your dial pad as a short cut.
- Click your network selection - if one is showing, select it, if nothing is showing go back to automatic.
- Toggle Airplane mode.
- Remove and insert your SIM card.
- Restart your phone.
- Ensure the country you're visiting is included in the travel add-ons and does not have coverage limitations.
- Check the Discussion threads to see if there's an outage.
