If you find that you aren't getting voicemails from people that are trying to call you, or they mention they're getting a generic greeting on your voicemail rather than your personal greeting that you recorded, this may be due to a feature called "Take a Message" on your Google Pixel.
This is a feature similar to "Live Voicemail" on iPhones, which is a device level voicemail service that overrides your Lüm voicemail, preventing it from working properly. In some cases it may be turned on by default on your phone.
In order to turn this feature off (or on if you wish):
- Go to your phone app (where you would place calls).
- Tap on the 3 horizontal lines in the top left corner (sometimes referred to as a "hamburger menu") then tap on Settings.
- Look for "Take a Message" and tap on it. If this feature was on, you can turn it off.
Once this is turned off, your Lüm voicemail should function normally again.
