At Lüm, you have the freedom to bring your existing phone number along for the journey or, if you're feeling adventurous, choose a brand-new one. The choice is yours!
New Lüm members will automatically be directed to this article upon activating the SIM.
Existing Lüm Members, please follow the steps below to change your phone number:
- Click My Account in the left menu.
- Click Change Phone Number
- Enter your Password and Press Confirm
- Continue on the desired option below
Select a New Phone Number
- Select desired location from Showing numbers for drop down
- Select a number or click Show me a new list
- Click Activate
- Confirm your selected number and click Activate
- Click Let's Go! on the confirmation screen
Transfer Your Current Phone Number
You can port most Saskatchewan phone numbers to Lüm Mobile.
A few things to know before porting your number over:
- Your number must be active with your previous provider to be brought over.
- We can only bring Saskatchewan 306 and 639 numbers to Lüm Mobile.
- If your landline is connected to a security system or internet service, contact your service provider before transferring your number.
- Enter the phone number you are transferring
- Choose if the number is a Landline or Cell Phone - if Landline you will be asked for your address.
- Choose your Current Provider
- Enter your Account Number Note: While an IMEI option is provided, it is not recommended as your provider may not have the most recent IMEI on file.
- Ensure you have your previous provider's SIM card in your phone. If you are unable to use the SIM from your previous provider, please contact them to add an SMS Bypass to your account before proceeding to the next step.
- Click Activate
- Click Refresh until it is approved.
- Once the request is approved, the Activate button will be enabled. Click Activate to complete the process.
🚩 Transferring a number is typically completed in seconds however, a landline number transfer can take up to two business days to complete.
🚩If you notice that your iPhone is displaying a different number or experiencing issues like receiving a "Message Failed" notification or showing an old number after changing your phone number, this is likely due to a specific iPhone setting that needs to be updated.
To address this, please follow these steps:
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Scroll down and select Messages.
- Toggle the switch for iMessage to the OFF position, and then switch it back to ON.
- After reactivating iMessage, scroll down to the Send & Receive section to ensure that the correct mobile number is selected.
- You may also need to delete the previous failed message, if so continue to the next step.
- Go to the message conversation.
- Touch and hold the message bubble that you want to delete.
- Click More.
- Click Delete Message.
